The abandoned and neglected sprint car Alan Gross salvaged has shared its secrets only though 15 years of meticolous research: It is, indeed, the legendary Pfrommer Offy. From the famous Hillegass factory where it was built in 1954, then driven by 15 Indy 500 veterans and 8 National Sprint Car Hall of Inductees- including Tommy Hinnershitz, who won the 1959 USAC Eastern Championship with it - the car triumphed, particulary during the years it was owned and campaigned by John Pfrommer.
